Gynaecologic Cancers

In Australia, there were 7047 new cases of gynaecological cancer diagnosed in 2025. Gynaecologic cancers make up 9.4% of all new female cancer cases. Currently in Australia, there are 23, 957 women living with gynaecological cancer. Breast cancer is still the the riskiest cancer for women in Australia, with Gynaecologic cancers coming in second1. Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow out of control. When cancer starts in a woman’s reproductive organs, it is called gynaecologic cancer2.

As the second most common type of cancer in women, in this module we are going to touch briefly on the different subsets of gynaecologic cancers, and increase your awareness of the symptoms and risks associated with gynaecologic cancers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop a broader understanding of these types of cancer in women.
  • Understand the variety of risks and symptoms of each of these cancers in women.
  • To help advocate for women experiencing symptoms.
  • To become part of the support crew for women in their cancer journey
  • Increase your understanding of women’s cancer beyond of breast cancer.

  • Currently have a client living with a gynaecologic cancer
  • Have a lead who is looking for a trainer who has experience with a gynaecologic cancer
  • Who are also on a mission to improve health and training outcomes for women
  • Who want to understand cancer in women beyond breast cancer
  • Who want to actively reduce risk of any kind of cancer in women

This course is worth 1CPD with AusActive and NZREPS and will take 1-2 hours to complete.
