Course Description
In Australia, there were 7047 new cases of gynaecological cancer diagnosed in 2025. Gynaecologic cancers make up 9.4% of all new female cancer cases. Currently in Australia, there are 23, 957 women living with gynaecological cancer. Breast cancer is still the the riskiest cancer for women in Australia, with Gynaecologic cancers coming in second1. Cancer is a disease in which cells in the body grow out of control. When cancer starts in a woman’s reproductive organs, it is called gynaecologic cancer2.
As the second most common type of cancer in women, this month we are going to touch briefly on the different subsets of gynaecologic cancers, and increase your awareness of the symptoms and risks associated with gynaecologic cancers.
