Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is the most common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age, affecting around 10% of all women1. PCOS can cause period problems, trouble falling pregnant, and trouble losing weight; however many of the problems that PCOS causes can be managed with a healthy lifestyle – of which exercise is imperative… but not just any kind of exercise. For this session we have guest and women’s reproductive health expert Kendall Hitch.

This course is for trainers who:

  • Do not yet have a solid understanding of the underpinning hormone imbalances leading to PCOS
  • Believe PCOS is simply multiple cysts on a woman’s ovaries
  • Understand that 1-2 women out of every 10 they train will be living with PCOS
  • Have a strong desire to use their sessions with these women to change their lives for the better
  • Want to understand how different exercise and lifestyle interventions can reduce the severity of PCOS

In this session you can expect to learn:

  • What is PCOS
  • What causes PCOS
  • Signs and symptoms of PCOS, and how it’s diagnosed
  • How exercise may help or hinder a woman’s experience of PCOS
  • What lifestyle changes you can guide towards to help someone with PCOS
