Course Description
20% of people are living with chronic pain worldwide, a leading cause of disability1. Women are disproportionately affected by many pain conditions. Historically, pain studies have been performed on male animals, however it’s come to light that pain is a multifaceted experience made up of sensory, cognitive, and emotional elements; thus affecting men and women differently.
Learning Outcomes:

Undergo a crash course in the bio/psycho/social model of pain.

Understand gender differences in risk of developing a pain condition, how those conditions are experienced, and treated.

Learn what this means for your movement prescription in your female clients.

Identify some key training considerations for women living with chronic pain.

Gain some tools for managing your female client’s pain while still facilitating a training session.
