Genitourinary Syndromes of Menopause and Lactation

Genitourinary disorders are conditions that affect the urinary and reproductive systems, of men and women. Some are hereditary, and others are acquired. There are many genitourinary conditions and they can affect anyone; some are more common in or only affect people assigned male at birth (AMAB), and others only affect people assigned female at birth (AFAB)1.

Learning Outcomes:
• Understand the definition and prevalence of genitourinary conditions in women
• Dive deeper into how and why menopausal and lactating women are more at risk
• Understand some of the common signs and symptoms of genitourinary disorders
• Gain some training considerations for women living with genitourinary disorders
• Learn the Menopause Societies lifestyle guidance to reduce incidence and flare ups
of genitourinary conditions.

Course Description

Genitourinary disorders are conditions that affect the urinary and reproductive systems, of men and women. Some are hereditary, and others are acquired. There are many genitourinary conditions and they can affect anyone; some are more common in or only affect people assigned male at birth (AMAB), and others only affect people assigned female at birth (AFAB)1. A syndrome is a collection of these conditions or disorders.
