Course Description
Like other autoimmune diseases, celiac disease occurs in more women than men. Women are diagnosed with celiac disease two to three times more often than men, 60% to 70% of those diagnosed with celiac disease are women1. In this session, we are going to explore how this disease affects not just a woman’s diet, but her fertility and lifestyle too.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn what exactly Celiac Disease is
- Learn how to advocate for your client living with Celiac Disease
- Understand what questions to ask in order to help your client gain a diagnosis
- Begin to grasp the interconnectedness of Celiac Disease with other health challenges, such as infertility and lactose intolerance
- Increase your awareness of the challenges people living with Celiac Disease might have with exercise
